Amy and Lawrence Named Winners of Blackburn College Agnes Eccles Awards
Amy Forrest and Lawrence Silcock have been named as Blackburn College’s two Agnes Eccles Award winners.
Amy, who graduated Blackburn University Centre’s BA (Hons) Contemporary Fashion, won the Higher Education award, while Lawrence, who currently studies Blackburn College’s Art and Design (UAL) Level 3 Extended Diploma, won the award for Further Education.
Both received their certificates during a small, socially distanced presentation ceremony with Blackburn College Principal and Chief Executive Dr Fazal Dad. Alongside their certificates, they also receive a cash prize taken from funding provided by charity The Agnes Eccles Art Award Fund.
Dr Fazal Dad said: “We have presented the Agnes Eccles Awards for a number of years and we are proud to distribute the funding we receive from the Agnes Eccles Art Award Fund to students who deserve it.
“Both Amy and Lawrence are talented Creative Arts students and worthy winners of this year’s awards. Lawrence continues to study at the College and I know Amy currently works at a local wedding dress design shop using her skills and techniques – I wish them both the very best for the future.”
