Blackburn University Centre Fine Art Graduate Picked for Prestigious Painting Prize
Blackburn University Centre BA (Hons) Fine Art Graduate Sarah Earnshaw has been selected for the prestigious Liverpool John Moores University Painting Prize.
Sarah graduated from the UK Top 10 Lancaster University validated Degree in 2017 and adds selection for the nationally recognised Painting Prize to her already impressive list of achievements.
She previously had a commissioned exhibition at PRISM Contemporary for 'Fabrications' - the first iteration of the British Textile Biennial. This opportunity came after Arts Commissioners Super Slow Way selected her from the Blackburn University Centre Degree show.
Sarah, 25 from Swinton, said: "I am so excited to have been chosen as part of the final 67 artists showing in the John Moores Painting Prize 2020, I can't quite believe it!
“In my time at Blackburn University Centre, I gained so much confidence in my artwork. Jamie (Holman) and Steve (Baldwin) gave all the students so much encouragement to try big things.
“I'm so proud that since leaving University in 2017 I have entered competitions and managed to be in an exhibition every year since, including winning First Prize in the Wigan Exhibition.”
