Blackburn College Offering FREE Digital Skills Qualifications for All Adults
Blackburn College is offering free Digital Skills Qualifications for all adults who want to improve their technology skills.
There is a course to suit the needs of all adults, whether you want to stay in touch with friends and family, help out with homework or just feel more confident using your devices.
The College’s set of Essential Digital Courses will cover different areas such as carrying out searches and accessing information, creating and editing information, saving images, sound and video and staying safe online with data protection and privacy. There are two levels – Entry Level and Level One – and Blackburn College will work out which level is suitable for you.
In addition, there are Skills for Life ICT courses that help improve computer skills and digital literacy. These courses include getting used to a range of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. They are free if you are currently in receipt of a benefit and are ideal if you are currently unemployed.
Wendy Wyke, Skills for Work Programme Area Manager at Blackburn College, said: “Adults will gain a new set of digital skills starting with the basics. There are a whole range of benefits of doing these courses - they will make you feel more confident when shopping or ordering groceries online; help you access internet banking and even help you with children's homework.”
Courses start in mid-April – to find the full information on these courses, and to apply now, please visit https://www.blackburn.ac.uk/free-essential-digital-qualifications/
