Triple A success for Sixth Form student Zak

Zak Patel

Former Tauheedul Islam Boys High School Pupil Zak Patel is celebrating after gaining A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and A in Physics in his A-Levels.

The 19-year-old Blackburn Sixth Form student is now heading to the University of Warwick to read Physics.

After receiving his results, Zak said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have achieved grades A*, A and A in my A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics.

"Before I enrolled onto A-Levels I did a BTEC in Engineering for one year. I have really enjoyed my time at Blackburn Sixth Form and feel that the tutors could not have done more to support me. They’ve always been there if I needed them and have made the lessons interesting.

"I’ve also met some really great people who I have enjoyed studying alongside.

"I’m now going to the University of Warwick to study Physics. I’ve visited the University and really liked the campus, and I can’t wait to start my degree."

Hayley McQueen, Head of Sixth Form at Blackburn College said: “We are delighted that Zak has got a place to read Physics at the University of Warwick.

"Zak has performed exceptionally across all his A-Level subjects. In addition to his academic gifts and insight, he has been consistently enthusiastic, curious and hard working in his approach to his studies.
