Level 1 Beauty Therapy
A message from Kate Daggett
Here at Blackburn College we all hope that we will be back to some kind of normal at the start of the new term.
I will miss meeting you in person on New Students’ Day, so to give you a taster of what I may have planned for you, the following slides will give you an insight into what you might be doing in the future as a beauty therapist.
Please choose 1 (or more) activity that you will try at home, then feel free to send photos of your end result to me. We will then have a little competition to see whose is the best. The prize will be vouchers to spend at our Academy of Hair and Beauty!

Task 1: Nail Enamelling
You will be learning how to apply nail enamel to the fingers and toes in your Level 1 unit: N1 Manicure and Pedicure, so have a little look at these YouTube clips which give you tips to help you apply it neatly.
Practice at home using any nail enamel you have, and when you feel you are ready, take 2 photos of the nails – 1 before, and 1 after, showing your work.
Tip: take the photos in natural light if possible.
Feel free to email me (Kate.Daggett@blackburn.ac.uk) with your full name and activity number in the email title before the end of June.
Task 2: Nail Art
You may not have nail art tools and products at home, but don’t worry, you can have a go at planning some nail art designs using paper and coloured pencils, pens or paints.
All you need is to draw a nail shape land paint away! Have a look at some ideas, on the internet, then come up with your own unique design.
Again free to email me (Kate.Daggett@blackburn.ac.uk) with your full name and activity number in the email title before the end of June.
