Thank you for expressing an interest in Hairdressing. We look forward to welcoming you in September .
As a team we have devised a few activities for you to have a go at – Good Luck and we look forward to seeing your work
All work can be sent to
firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet @louparr50 and @bbcollege with the #homelearning #lockdownhairdressing hashtags. You can also fill in the form below to ask a question.
Research different types of plaits and braids you can create in your hair.
You can either produce a PowerPoint slide with your findings on or try and create them in your own hair and take a selfie.
As you are all aware, we currently can't go and get our hair cut, coloured etc. and the same goes for celebrities.
Research what and how celebrities are dealing with not getting their hair done during the lockdown – from pink hair to home haircuts!
Here’s a starter for 10 to look at.
Give yourself or a member of your family a treat and make your own conditioning mask for your hair.
Have years of straightening, colouring, and general over styling dried your hair out?
This is one of my favourites.
You will need:
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of Avocado
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tablespoon of Honey
The coconut will soften your hair, avocado will moisturise, the eggs will restore protein and the honey adds shine.
Mash all the ingredients together in a bowl, then apply to freshly shampooed damp hair, leave for 20 minutes.
The smell takes a bit of getting used to and it is crucial after 20 minutes you rinse your hair thoroughly. The mixture is quite thick and clings to your hair but the results will be worth it!
