Games Art and Concepts (UAL) Level 3 Extended Diploma
"The tutors at Blackburn College have always been incredibly supportive and genuinely interested in my skills, creations and development."
Sam said: “I started my College career with an Entry Level 1 IT course and worked my way up. I then took a Level 2 Media course hoping to become an animator and earned a Distinction for some stop-motion work.
“After that, I took Level 3 Game Art to try to continue my path. There, among a lot of like-minded peers and supportive tutors, I found a real passion for the Games Industry and decided to become a Games Designer.
“I chose to study at Blackburn College for the wide variety of options it provided me, especially coming in from being entirely home-schooled for the past five years.”
Sam added: “I learned a plethora of skills on this course ranging from stop-motion animation to character concepts and traditional and digital art. These lessons helped to foster my own personal interest in skills I never thought I could be good at and sparked my passion for games design.
“The tutors at Blackburn College have always been incredibly supportive and genuinely interested in my skills, creations and development. Without their vital feedback and honest interest, I wouldn’t have mustered the motivation to truly take on the many new skills I learned throughout the course.
“I am progressing to Futureworks School of Media in Manchester to take on a BA (Hons) Games Design course. I have always had a passion for independent design and creating concepts with friends; the independent, personal nature of Futureworks accommodates that perfectly.
“My dream job is to be part of an indie games studio, creating video games with colleagues I can also consider good friends.”
