"I managed to gain a job in the creative industry before I even finished the course."

“When I commenced this course I was working as a Personal Assistant in a Primary School.  I decided to return to study so I could explore my creativity and the BA (Hons) Fine Art programme is so diverse it allowed me to explore and practice a variety of techniques from sculpture to photography.

The best part about returning to study as a mature student was becoming part of a community of practicing artists.  The opportunities that this course has exposed me to has been amazing including opportunities to exhibit in major cities and I was even commissioned to create a mural for renowned Fashion Designer, Patrick Grant.

My dissertation has heavily influenced my Final Major Project which I have exhibited at the Annual End of Year Creative Arts Show.  The theme for my installation was inspired by the #MeToo movement and I explored the topic of sexual assault in the UK.

I managed to gain a job in the creative industry before I even finished the course and now work as a Digital Programme intern with arts organisation InSitu based in Pendle and I absolutely love it!  My ultimate goal is to continue to create stand-alone pieces as an artist and work with the community to facilitate and inspire others to explore creative arts.”
