"The level of support the tutors give to each student is incredible and they really helped to develop my confidence in my ability"

When my eldest child enrolled at University they inspired me to enrol myself onto a course which would allow me to follow a career change into my dream role, working within the Criminal Justice Sector.  The FdA Criminology and Criminal Justice qualification was a great option for me as it had many pathways into careers where I could really make a difference to society.   During the course I was encouraged to volunteer to gain experience and put my new skills into practice.  I volunteered at a women's domestic violence refuge and found the role very interesting.  Through the course and my volunteering experience I built the confidence to apply and secure a permanent role as a Mentoring and Advocacy Key Worker at a charity called Together Women.  This role involves working with supporting female ex-offenders and I absolutely love it!  Without this qualification and support from my tutors i would never have been able to secure this role.  The best part about the course for me was the teaching team.  The level of support the tutors give to each student is incredible and they really helped to develop my confidence in my ability.  I enjoyed the course so much I have enrolled onto the BA (Hons) Criminology and Criminal Justice (Top Up) to gain an Honours Degree in the subject that has helped to change my life.
