Lauren studied Blackburn University Centre’s Lancaster University awarded BA (Hons) Teaching and Learning Support course and achieved First Class Honours. Congratulations and good luck, Lauren!

Lauren said: “I chose to study at Blackburn University Centre because the campus is close to where I live in Darwen and I did not want to move away from home to do my Degree.

“On the course I have really enjoyed gaining more knowledge of the education field and also gaining more confidence.

“My tutors are the ones who have helped me gain in confidence and helped me become the person I have always wanted to become. They have also supported my preparation for the future by increasing my knowledge and understanding of the education sector, which is valuable.”

She added: “My tutors got me believing that I am capable of completing the course to a high standard, which is why I am so delighted to have achieved First Class Honours. I now know I can work in the industry I want to have a career in and they even encouraged me to do a Masters.

“I currently work for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council as a Teaching Assistant in a variety of local schools. I am also doing a Masters in Childhood and Youth Studies with the Open University. My ultimate goal is to become a Play Therapist or a Teacher.”
