LLM Masters in Law - Merit and Burnett's Award for Law

"I was a bit of a late developer, all my previous academic work has been for a purpose so studying a Masters in Law was a bit different for me. It’s just made me feel happy and positive about myself.

“I completed a HND at Blackburn University Centre and have spent quite a few years here studying, this place has been part of me and I also feel part of it.

“I have worked in financial services for 35 years but now work as a Parish Councillor. After completing this qualification in Law, I will be standing in my local council elections. I will be standing next May and want to help the younger generation get into politics.

“My lecturers have shown incredible knowledge and patience and have been approachable and willing to help us all to be the best that we can be.

“Without their involvement and help, I would suggest that the overall success and ultimately the success of the students within the Law department at Blackburn University Centre would not be what it is today.

“Blackburn University Centre should be proud of the success the Law department has brought to the University Centre and to Blackburn as a town.

“I would recommend Blackburn University Centre to anybody and I would encourage anybody who thinks they can’t do it, to have a go.

“Dr Tass Hussain took a chance on me and as a result, I’ve ended up with a Merit and the Burnett’s Award for Law, it really is humbling.”
