I feel really happy that I got a First-Class Honours degree and I am delighted with the result! I would never have thought it possible but it just goes to show that with great support and hard work you can achieve anything at the University Centre at Blackburn College.
"Prior to studying at the University Centre at Blackburn College I was working in customer services but wanted better opportunities. I chose the University Centre at Blackburn College because it was local and with degrees awarded by Lancaster University, I knew that I could get a great degree here. People I know also recommended UCBC so it was an obvious choice."
"I had a part-time job throughout my studies but the University was very accommodating and I could fit it in around my studies, which was invaluable during my time here and helped me financially of course."
"The support here is amazing. From revision through to all kinds of learning opportunities, I was given the time and space to identify a style of learning that worked for me and it made studying here really enjoyable. There is plenty of support at the University Centre at Blackburn College including emotional and financial support, which was always good to know and while I didn’t need it, it was comforting to know I could get help if I ever needed it."
"In my second year I had a work placement through my course that offered me insight in to real life business practice. I spent time at Studio Express Gifts dealing with finance, payments and credit queries. The work placement was a great way to put theory in to practice and to apply some of what I had learned to the real world."

"I’ve now secured a role in the financial services sector at a FTSE 250 company called Equiniti. My degree was the thing that got me the job too. They were asking for one year of financial services experience and while I didn’t have that, my degree gave me the skills they were looking for and I am delighted to be starting my new career!"
