On the Day Ticket Collection
Please note you must have already registered online.
You cannot turn up on the day and attend.
Please go to Blackburn College’s Registry at the Beacon Centre to collect your graduand and all your guest tickets. Please note that entry to the hall will not be permitted without a ticket. Graduands must make sure all guest tickets are given to guests before graduands go to the lining up venue.
Please keep tickets with you at all times.
Once you have collected your tickets please make your way to Sports Hall 1 in the Sports and Leisure Centre to collect your gowns and have your photographs taken. Your guests can accompany you or can make their way to King George’s Hall. Please enter the Sports Hall through the back doors near the entrance to Feilden Street car park/Reidy’s.
When you have your gown and have had your photographs taken you must make your way to the lining up venue (Sports Hall 2) to prepare for the graduate procession. Your guests should make their way to King George’s Hall and be seated 30 minutes before the ceremony. Please make sure your guests have their tickets.
The graduate procession is compulsory and involves all graduands leaving the Sports Hall and processing through campus to King George’s Hall (see map) where you will then enter the Hall in front of all your guests. This is a great opportunity to inspire others. Those with access requirements will be catered for and we invite you to discuss this with our HE Disability Advice Service on 01254 292269.
During the ceremony you will be directed when to leave your seat to line up and then cross the stage to shake hands with the Presiding Officer and have your degree conferred. If you do not wish to shake hands please hold your graduation brochure in your right hand. After crossing the stage you must return to your seat for the remainder of the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony you will process out of the Hall.
After the ceremony you and your guests are invited to attend the celebration event taking place at the University Centre in The Curve. Complimentary refreshments and entertainment will be available for all guests and graduates.
You must return your gown to the University Centre by 7pm.
