Procession and Ceremony
When you have your gown and have had your photographs taken you must make your way to the lining up venue (Sports Hall 2) to prepare for the graduate procession. Your guests should make their way to King George’s Hall and be seated 30 minutes before the ceremony. Please make sure your guests have their tickets.
The graduate procession is compulsory and involves all graduands leaving the Sports Hall and processing through campus to King George’s Hall (see map) where you will then enter the Hall in front of all the guests. This is a great opportunity to inspire others. Those with access requirements will be catered for and we invite you to discuss this with our HE Disability Advice Service on 01254 292269.
During the ceremony you will be directed when to leave your seat to line up and then cross the stage and have your degree conferred. After crossing the stage please follow the directions of the ushers and return to your seat for the remainder of the ceremony. Please note that due to the way graduates are seated you might not end up back in the same seat you were in initially so please try not to bring anything with you.
At the end of the ceremony you will process out of the Hall when directed.
