Guest Tickets

All guests admitted to the graduation ceremony must be in possession of a ticket or you will not be permitted to enter. Each student attending their graduation ceremony is entitled to TWO guest tickets free of charge (graduating students will receive their own separate graduand ticket).

Extra Guest Tickets

Graduands can purchase up to FOUR additional guest tickets for the ceremony. Each additional guest ticket will cost £5.00. Once student registration has closed the Additional Guest Tickets will go on General sale on Thursday 27th September at 9.00am for 5 days through the same website where students register and order gowns and photography www.gownhire.co.uk. You will need to log back in and add the tickets to your order. Guests cannot book their own tickets. All tickets are sold on a first come first served basis and are non-refundable. No tickets are posted. All tickets will be available on the day at the Ticket Collection Desk in the Beacon Centre [See map]

All additional guest tickets are available through the website only. There is no option to purchase tickets on campus or over the phone or on the day. All queries can be sent to graduation@blackburn.ac.uk

All students must ensure they have registered by the Friday 31st August (July results) or Wednesday 26th September (September results)

Ceremonies are not suitable for young children under the age of 5 due to the length and formality of graduation. If you wish children to attend they must have a guest ticket and be accompanied by an adult guest (not a graduand). Under no circumstances are children allowed to sit with graduands. Please note there are no childcare facilities at King George’s Hall and prams and buggies are not permitted in the Hall and there is no storage.

Please note that on the day latecomers to the ceremony, including guests, will not be permitted entry under any circumstances as this will disrupt the formality of the proceedings.

Live Screening for Guests

If you have more guests than tickets, or young children under 5 for whom the ceremony is not suitable, they are welcome to attend the live screening in the University Centre Lecture Theatre. This is not ticketed but seats are limited. The live screening is more informal so it is more suited to young children.

If you have family or friends who are unable to attend on the day then they will be able to stream the ceremony from the website. The link will be available on the day.

Please note that due to the technology involved the quality of the live stream can vary and there may be unforeseen technical issues.
