Students' Union

As a student at University Centre at Blackburn College you are automatically a member of our Students’ Union.

Although our Students’ Union is small we try to cater for everyone. We have 9 dedicated Students’ Union Officers who are elected each year and a full-time Students’ Union President. You can read all about our Students’ Union Officers below.

As a student there’s also a range of clubs and societies you can get involved in. These include:

Settling in

Of course, loads of activities happen to help you settle into life in Higher Education too. Our Freshers’ Fair gets bigger and better every year and there are always loads of stalls to check out.

Before you start at University Centre at Blackburn College you’ll be sent information about our Freshers’ Fair which will be your first point of call to find out about all the activities that will take place in your first few weeks.

Opting out of the Students' Union

When you become a student at the University Centre Blackburn College you will automatically become a member of the Students’ Union. However, you can opt out if you wish to do so.

Opting out means that you will be unable to access the SU resources and support should you need guidance with academic misconduct, mitigating circumstances or raising a grievance.
