Workforce Integration Ambassador Programme

Blackburn College Our Community, Our Futures Blackburn with Darwen Council

Cultural and practical barriers can often prevent organisations from attracting and retaining a diverse workforce, resulting in missed opportunities for the organisation and individuals.

Blackburn College is pleased to be leading on a Workforce Integration project, as part of Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Social Integration programme. We are looking for Blackburn and Darwen based companies who are committed to ensuring an inclusive and diverse workplace and who can share best practice with others.

The College is supporting organisations to establish an inclusive culture within their existing workforce.

The Programme

Each participating company will identify a member of staff who can train as a Workforce Integration Ambassador. Ambassadors will participate in four training sessions focused on recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce. The interactive workshops include sessions with external agencies and experts. The project will train 20 Ambassadors so places are limited.

The Ambassadors will be supported to develop Action Plans and companies who successfully complete the Programme will have access to a grant of £300 to support implementation of their action plans.

There is still time to join the Programme. The remaining dates are:

  • Friday 24th September (Day 2)
  • Friday 22nd October (Day 3)
  • Thursday 25th November (Day 4)

To join the Programme you would be expected to review the Day 1 resources and recordings. Support will be provided from the Programme tutors.
